How can I mask my IP address without using a public proxy or tunnel website? Because in my experience, configuring your browser to use a public proxy slows down your connection, and using tunnel websites like vtunnel.com has limitations, specifically rapidshare.com can detect that you're using a tunnel website. It is not possible without proxy servers. But regarding rapidshare they do not care about Transparent (non anonymous) proxy servers.
From my own experience i know that you can use transparent proxy server on rapidshare to bypass limit.
The reason that rapidshare block you behind vtunnel is because many user use it. Simple is that and not because any kind of detection etc...

Do you want a fixing IP address. Call your isp to buy a fixing IP address. It is a best way.
Use a subnet mask inside your router.
Are you sure RS can detect it? I've been using one proxy for long as has been safe :)
