Have any aspirin? Not exactly the kitchen, I know, but if you take a few tablets of uncoated aspirin, add a few drops of water and maybe a drop of honey (moisturizing), it makes an awesome mask. It really makes a visible difference in your skin, try it, see how it works for you. Um... obviously if you're allergic to aspirin, though, DON'T try it.

For the kitchen, yeah, eggs are good (the whites, not the yolks - but the yolks are good for your hair, as a pre-shampoo deep conditioning treatment!), just spread a thin layer on your skin and allow it to dry before rinsing it off. It helps draw out oils and such. If you have a lot of patience, the thin membrane between the white and the shell is good to spread over your skin too (I mean actually lay out the individual slabs of membrane... it is tedious).

Oatmeal is good, it's got soothing properties and can also absorb oils. I like to grind it up a little in a coffee grinder so it's smoother and not so clumpy/icky.

Yogurt is good, very nourishing and refreshing. The lactic acid in it helps to gently exfoliate your skin.

Strawberries have enzymes in them, I believe, that are also good for your skin, and you can mash them up with either the yogurt or the oatmeal (or hey, all of the above!) for a nice smelling skin smoothie.

Plain honey is moisturizing to the skin, and is said to have antimicrobial properties. Just spread generously, let sit for as long as you want (5-20 minutes), then rinse off. You can add a drop or two of olive oil to help it spread easier, as it is so sticky it can pull the little facial hairs and can be a little irritating while you're spreading it on if you don't give it some ';slip';.

Aloe is good too, it is said to have healing properties, if you can find a leaf of aloe at the store, or if you happen to have an aloe plant, you can slice it open and spread the slime from the inside on your face. It will tighten as it dries, and then when it's dry, just rinse off.

Experiment! Have fun!Facial masks w/ ingredients from the kitchen?

Oatmeal is excellent for facials..............prepare as normal.......let it cool and apply to your face, let it set.......then wash off with warm water.
