How to make a clipping mask in Illustrator?

I want to make a clipping mask with more then one shape but when I do it all just goes white if you look at this image http://www.g2showroom.com/images/photo2.jpg


you can see what I want to do. I want to make a clipping mask out of all the squares with the photo.How to make a clipping mask in Illustrator?
You need to make all the squares a Compound Path first. Select all the squares. Go to Object %26gt; Compound Path %26gt; Make (or Ctrl+8). Now select your new compound path and the image and choose Object %26gt; Clipping Mask %26gt; Make ( or Ctrl+7)How to make a clipping mask in Illustrator?
