Create a feud between Undertaker and Kane. Then have a casket match and make undertaker win. You can say that Kane was severely injured and will not return for a couple of months. Kane would take time off and then WWE could hype up the return and when Undertaker wins at a pay-per-view Kane will return as masked Kane.
