One good homemade mask recipe:

1/3 cup plain whole milk yogurt, 2 tbsp. honey %26amp; a bit of ground oatmeal. Apply a layer %26amp; leave it on for 10 mins. Rinse off w/ tepid water.

Yogurt - loosens dead skin cells

Honey - humectant w/ anti-bacterial properties

Oatmeal - optional; soothes %26amp; helps remove dry skin

Face mask recipe for oily skin are: crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water or aloe to make mask.

For combination/oily skin: apply thin layer of plain milk of magnesia. Let dry for 15 minutes or so. Rinse w/ tepid water %26amp; face cloth. This helps tighten pores %26amp; get rid of excess oil.

Check this website... I hope it helps!
First of all, you need to maintain a clear skin ie you need to remove all the clogged up pores. To me that is most important. If you don't, no matter what up put on won't get to work its best. If you don't go for regular facial to have your pores cleared, then try this recipe at home for removal of clogged up pores.

Take an egg and only kept the whites. Put it in a bowl, then soak some thin cotton wools (square would be best). Push back you hair from your face, put the cotton wools around your face, especially the nose, cheeks, chin, forehead. It might get a bit messy and the smell might get to you...anyway, lean back relax and wait for it to dried up completely. If you have done it right, when you removed the COMPLETELY DRIED cotton wool, you'll see tiny black flecks - that's your blackheads, white heads etc. Do this about once a week if you could. Then when you have no clogged up pores, try the recipies that our friends recommends. Hope this help.
I found these two websites to be a LIFESAVER!!!
