How can I make my own Lucha Libre mask? In other words, how can I sew my own mask?

I'd like to make my own luchador (wrestler) mask. You know, El Santo, Mil Mascaras, Rey Mysterio, Blu Demon, etc, etc. But I don't know how to make the patters and then sew them together. You need to get or make a model the size %26amp; shape of your head. Maybe you could find a mannequin head made out of styrofoam, I'm talking about those plastic models used to display hats. Any how, after you get your shape, drape muslin or inexpensive fabric to make your pattern.





The type of masks you are talking about sounds like it would work out best using spandex. If you use a sewing machine be sure you use a zig zag stitch.

Be careful because nylon runs once you start stitching (totally didn't know that because of a mask...swear) so make sure you go to a store that has the specialty fabs for this undertaking...sounds cool!
